By our senior writer: Shaun Turner

Today is a exciting day for me because I get to review the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin! I am long time electronics writer, blogger and reviewer Shaun Turner and you might know me from some of my other reviews. I've written for example about the Panasonic 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven with Inverter Technology™, Black by Panasonic and the Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch by Fitbit or maybe you have heard of the editorial piece I did on the OGX Ever Straightening + Brazilian Keratin Therapy Conditioner, 13 FL OZ. Anyway, I have quite a lot experience trying out electronics and recommending only the best to my readers. Therefore I was really happy when this product came on my path.

Introduction

Since 2012 I've been watching Dell1 so I am really excited that I am finally able to try the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin and writing this review for you guys. While searching for the best deal on this product I stumbled across this offer on Walmart (You can buy it here.) and I immediately jumped on the opportunity. So I got my creditcard out and placed my order. With the standard same day delivery and free shipping it really is a bargain compared to the competitor brands and retailers. Later that day when my ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin was delivered I opened it and was overjoyed with what I saw. I might sound a bit biassed being a longtime Dell customer but this product really steps it up quite a bit, which is immediately noticeable when opening the package. Now that I've been testing it for a couple of days now I feel like I know enough about the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin to write this review. So keep reading and I will show you why I am so enthusiastic about my brand new ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin.

Summary

When reviewing electronics I usually begin with a summary, then a compact list of the pros and cons of the product after which you can find the rating and my conclusion and resources. So as you can read in the intro, I am really amazed by the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin. Dell has really set a new standard with this one. The durability is fantastic, and frankly; it just looks super. I know looks aren't deciding with electronics, but it just needs to be addressed. I mean the price Walmart offered was and is by far the lowest so make sure to check them out when you are going to get one. As I have tested some alternatives before, I will say none come close to the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin. Just the flexibility alone crumbles all competition and the quality also seems to be top notch. The famous customer service of Dell2 is always very happy to help if you have any kind of questions so if you ever run in to something with their products they'll be really supple with helping you find a solution. So just to recap; only positive things to say about the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin and Light 2-in-1 HD Touchscreen Laptop, Intel® Quad-Core Pentium® N4200 Processor (2.5GHz), 4GB RAM, 64GB EMMC Storage, Windows 10 Home. Do read till the end tho because you there is a tiny surprise!

Pros

This pros list of the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin could be much longer, and is way longer than the conslist, but the description3 this site has will probably already say it all. Here is just a little piece: "

Good and Bad

It's very reliable for all the things i need to do business wise. It's also good for my kids when it comes to homework and things of that nature. My only problem was that the video card is so out of date that most of the things i need to do calls for a updated video cards so i have to update it myself. Over its a good basic computer tower plus it came with a mouse and keyboard.

for a senior/neighbor

My technically challenged neighbor's computer died, cutting her off from her bank, grandkids, email, etc., so I told her about refurbished CPUs at Walmart.com. I found her one at a price that wouldn't break her budget. It came (earlier than promised). It was in excellent shape. It booted up quickly and has performed admirably. Thanks Walmart. Thanks Discount Computer Depot.

Great unit, but...KEYBOARD!

The tower is set up beautifully, and is small enough for either desktop or under desk placement. It's about 12x12x4 and has plenty of USB 2.0 ports, a multi-card port and a headphone port on the front. Processor is relatively fast, and with a good internet connection can handle plenty of open apps/windows, even gaming. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the keyboard. Evidently HP thought it would be a good idea to save space by placing the zero key on a small key instead of the (normal) wide thumb stroke keyboard style. That's so irritating to those of us who do production numerical work. The keyboard included is quite silent and VERY small--about an inch smaller than a regular style keyboard with all the keys included. I would be in love with the keyboard if it weren't for the way they made the numerical zero key; I keep hitting the right arrow instead of being able to strike a zero. They need to go back and redesign on that one thing. I just used an older keyboard and now it's business as usual. I would've chosen a different unit had I known this--they show a wide strike keyboard in their online view of the product. I've attached the numerical keyboard pic. I'd recommend this unit for a college kid or anyone who doesn't need the numerical strike key to be wide--otherwise, HP really needs to go back to the drawing board on that.

I needed a computer fast and I got it fast. Works great! Easy to set up.
